My Pocket PC missed Leap Year

Leap year I turned on my HP IPAQ h1945 and my rx1950 yesterday and found that the date was wrong by just one day. Apparently these two Pocket PCs did not recognize that this is a leap year. After looking around HP's website, I found some patches, called the Real Time Clock Update, for the h1900, the rx1950/rx1955 and the rx3700 that HP posted on February 20th to address problems with dates. I installed the patch to my h1945 yesterday and everything seems to be fine.

According to HP's documentation, the Real Time Clock Update correctly sets the time and date for the following reported test cases:

  • The setting 2007/12/31 jumps to year 2014.
  • The setting 2008/2/28 jumps to day 03/01.
  • The HP iPAQ locks up when the date is set to 2008/2/29.
  • The setting 2012/2/28 jumps to date 03/01.
  • The HP iPAQ locks up when the date is set to 2012/2/29.
  • The setting 2013/12/31 jumps to year 1998/1//1.

After you download the SoftPaq to your computer, select the .exe file and you'll see a License Agreement.  Curiously, the License Agreement is written in Japanese.  After you accept the license agreement, you will be prompted through the rest of the installation.  Screenshots of the installation to my rx1950 are shown below:
