SKTOOLs includes a Benchmark option that benchmarks 6 different Pocket PC operations. I honestly don't know much about these benchmarks, but here's what SKTOOLs writes about them:
- Integer: CPU performance index when working with integer values (Hanoi tower) (Moves/25 usec) - 15 iterations
- Floating point: CPU performance index when working with floating point values (Whetstone) (MWIPS) - 9 iterations
- RAM access: Memory access speed index (Speed index)
- Draw bitmaps: Simple GDI test for for portrait screen orientation (Speed index)
- Main Storage: File system read/write speed (Type: KB/sec) - 12 iterations
- Storage Card: File system read/write speed (Type: KB/sec) - 12 iterations

These benchmarks support what I've known all along.....the Windows Mobile 2003se OS is much faster than the WM5.0 OS.
How do these benchmarks compare to your Pocket PC? You can get SKTOOLs here.

Here's mine. I ran 3 times because of some of the large differences. May be time to do a cold reload, huh?

What a difference! If you decided to perform a clean reset, post back new Benchmarks before you've got your 6925 loaded up again. That would be a good baseline to compare against.

Ok, I will do it over the weekend. Scary! Hope I can get everything back the same - except faster, of course. I will use your Sprite BU recommendation for key files (of course, I won't do a full restore! That would not solve anything.) I wish I had been keeping a diary of the tweaks and changes I have made. I do think I have all the passwords, though.
I have Vito's buttonmapper loaded (to get context sensitive one- and double-click action from the side button on the 6925. I wonder if that is a culprit?

Ok, did a hard reset and loaded SKTOOLS first (after Afaria, which my company uses to manage the iPAQ.) Here are my results:

Comments:
1) There is a lot of variance in the results from run to run.
2) Hard reset helped
3. I thought we had the same SD card? Yours looks like one of the fast write ones?

As far as I know we have the same SD card. I got the 4 GB SD card from memory suppliers. But I've read that the read write speed can be affected by how much stuff is loaded on the card. I've got iGuidance on it and several applications. The card is about half full.

I ran the SK benchmarks on my HP2790 624 MHz and Windows 5.0
Integer 313.1203
Floating point 8.322
Ram Access 902
Draw Bitmaps 1460
Main Storage (write) 1097.73
Main Storage (read) 4442.52
All these numbers seem good except Ram Access. Why so slow? Any ideas?
Thanks

Following are results of 2 runs on a new iPAQ 111 running WM6:
Integer 255.5008 248.6665
Floating Point 8.571 8.573
RAM Access 923 921
Draw bitmaps 1394 1436
Main Storage (write)1731.19 1691.63
Main Storage (read) 4494.51 4561.25
Storage Card (write) 604.25 600.00
Storage Card (read) 2879.10 3004.40
Note that these numbers are after soft reset and the storage card is a 4gb CL(4) SDHC about 22% full. On board storage is 42% full and about 26mb program memory (DRAM) is free.

Thanks for sharing your results! How do you like your IPAQ 111?

So far I like it overall! It's my first PDA. Though it lacks certain features (which I personally don't miss) like IR and such, what it has seems to work well. My only real disappointment (beyond WinMo itself) is a bad pixel in the screen!
