New Zealand Daylight Savings Changes
On September 30th at 2:00 am, Daylight Savings kicked in for New Zealand. For New Zealanders, DST starts one week earlier and ends two weeks later (3:00 A.M. on 6th April 2008) than past years.
Microsoft has posted patches to address these changes for both Windows computers and Windows Mobile Devices. You can learn more about the DST change here:
- Daylight Savings Changes: New Zealand
- An August 2007 daylight saving time update for Windows Mobile-based devices is available
- Daylight Saving Time 2007 Update
You can find the Microsoft DST patches here:
- 2007 time zone update for Microsoft Windows operating system computers
- Outlook time zone update tool
- Daylight Savings Time 2007 Update Tool for Windows Mobile (.msi file - to be installed through ActiveSync)
If you prefer to install the DST update to your Pocket PC via .cab file, you can download .cab files here:

Hello, Julie. Thanks for the reminder on DST. I gotta update my iPAQ on this... By the way, I'd like to thank you for your comment on a HP iPAQ thread I created at HP Forum. I am happy to say I "stumbled" upon a solution to a glitch - and with other glitch! If you feel like checking it out, visit http://forums.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/bizsupport/questionanswer.do?threadId=1141054 . Best regards!
