Everything is good. I've just been quite busy with work and haven't had much time to post. But I am preparing an article which I will be posting early this week!

I probably goofed a minute ago by sending you an IM message. I don't have an IM account to reply to.
I have an XP computer with AS 4.2 installed. I use WiFi to get onto the net. In an attempt to fix another problem, a lame level 2 tech at Trend Micro tried to replace the 2007 version of their security software with their latest version. In the process, whatever settings let me connect my computer to wifi & my pda via USB & AS 4.2 got lost. I can do the net via wifi OK until I plug the pda in. When AS comes up wifi crashes. I have to unplugged the pda & rest the computer to get wifi back.
If the pda is plugged in first & AS is running, the computer won't connect to my wifi hub.
We finally uninstalled the 2008 software & did a system restore on my computer. This put the 2007 security software back on but didn't fix the non-compatibility problem.
I uninstalled the 2007 software. no help.
I have an older pda running WM 4 that doesn't cause any of these issues on the same computer. So it looks to me to be a WM 5 issue. But I can't figure what it is. Unless there was something trick in my old security software settings that handled the 2 network connections in a way that XP alone won't. But I'm fed up with Trend (6 months working with them on the TMProxy problem with no progress and now this) and want to find another software package. So I'd rather not reinstall my old version off my CD.
Do you have any thoughts?
Thanks,
Andy

Andy,
What Poccket PC do you have? If you have an WM5.0 IPAQ and you have the ActiveSync Mode switch on it (tap Start > Settings > Connection tab > ActiveSync Mode), you can try changing the mode from RNDIS to USB to see if that makes a difference.
I have some other thoughts about it, so let me know if that doesn't resolve your issue.

I have an hx2795. It does not have an ActiveSync Mode icon on the Connections tab.
After completely removing the PCCillin suite from my computer my problems disappeared.
I've since installed the free version of AVG, Commodo's firewall and CounterSpy. No problems having the pda plugged in while the computer's using wifi.
My conclusion is that PCCillin must have been the problem. Even more of a problem was Trend's tech support. It'll be a cold day in hell before I'd pay for anything of their's again.

I'm glad you were able to work out the problem. Antivirus software is a culprit many times especially the second tier products (my term for antivirus software that is not Norton, Symantec or the other big name software vendors).
HP provided the ActiveSync Mode switch for the hx2795 in SP32878 firmware update.

I think your website is great and it does alot to help newbies like me maximize the value of their ipaqs.
If this isn't the right place to leave questions, I certainly apologize. I have an HP Ipaq 111 and I'm interested in how to get internet material down to full page viewings, or readable viewings. Right now I can see about a quarter of the text at one time.

Hello Melanie, Thanks for dropping by my blog. I'm glad you find the articles here useful.
Within Internet Explorer on your IPAQ, you can set an option to view websites in One Column. With WM6.0 devices, Internet Explorer was rearranged, so you may have to hunt around a little to find this option, but on my WM5.0 device, I open up Internet Explorer, then tap Menu > View > One Column.
